World Teachers Day

Last Friday was Teachers Day here in Australia and as a welfare class we had to come up with a thoughtful way of saying 'Thank You' to the teachers in a certain block.

It was beautiful to see how some of the students really came together to show their appreciation for the teachers who not only teach them, but go above and beyond in everything they do to ensure they succeed.

So we had mini chocolates delivered on all their desks, along with a cupcake each and a personal card saying thank you and a 'Happy World Teachers Day' card.
I would LOVE to see a lot more students giving back and saying thank you to others around them and not just on set days!

Something I am going to start next year with all my classes.

I STILL have to finish my blog post on my travels with Kylie from DownUnderTeacher  but it was such a fantastic cruise!

Was there anything special your kids did for Teachers Day? Do you celebrate it at your school?
*Have an AMAZING week*

Awesome Storage & Holidays

I love being productive on the school holidays! We put up two hooks to store our gardening tools and rakes/ brooms easily along the side of the house. Talk about freeing up some space and making it very tidy! :)

We also cleaned up both of our sheds. One of them is a dedicated camping/ children toys/ kiting/ bodyboarding equipment shed and the other is gardening/ tools/ general yard items.

It's lovely knowing when we go to use something how well organised it is! I nearly cannot wait until we go camping or bodyboarding and have to go into that shed! :)
We often are building something or renovating or gardening so are always in this shed which is why it ends up being the messiest!

I am in the middle of creating a few TpT/ TN items so I will post back VERY soon!

ooOo April Currently :)

I always become so excited for the beginning of the month and its all because of Farly's over at Oh boy its 3rd Grade! :) Each month she has an awesome currently so go check her out if you haven't already.

I always forget about April fools because  quite often in Australia we're on school holidays at the time.

Sooooo now to my currently.....

Listening: Big Bang Theory is always on at 7pm until around 8:30pm in Australia so now The Block is over, I tend to have it on in the back ground :)

Loving: Being on school holidays! Today we went to my Mums and my husband and I put up a tension wire extension around her deck and increased her fence height because she has a gorgeous new greyhound called Tessa!

Thinking: I love gardening when it isn't too hot! I managed to get a sunburnt back on Sunday because I didn't realize it was that hot! :( Cannot wait until our corn and lettuce grow! Our passionfruit vine has flowers and baby passionfruit! VERY excited.

Wanting: More sleep! I know its holidays but I cannot help but stay up late and work on TpT items or school work for next term!

Needing: Plan ahead for next term! eeeiiiiikkkkkkkkkkk

Advice: Always be true to who you are no matter who puts you down or wants you to change yourself <3

Gazebo, MAJOR Storms & Tornado's in Australia!? WhAt!?!?

Our Gazebo is finally complete!
So this is the COMPLETED & furnished Gazebo we finished building over the holidays!

After 3.5 months of working during the holidays, after school, then over the Christmas break, voooolllaaaaaaa! :)

Apart from the power lead over the roof from screwing the iron sheets down, and the birdbath without its top and other such picky things, we're so pleased with it
So this was completed 1 week ago. The weather since then has been rainy, clouds, storms, rain.... :( AND THEN.... I wake up to THIS this morning!
Not my photo but bayside
"Qld again in grip of deadly flood disaster", "Five tornadoes leave trail of destruction" and "Defence force at Qld's disposal: Swan" to say the least...

TORNADO... in Australia!? In Queensland!? Talk about a rarity, and to think that 2 years ago at this time we had the terrible floods that took so many lives unexpectedly, and flooded so many areas of Queensland from Toowoomba to Brisbane City.

It stopped raining for 10 min today!
Now this!!!!! It's been broadcast on TV 24/7 with full coverage since I woke up this morning, so they're really on the ball with plans to look after everyone and evacuate on time! Because we're located so close to the bayside ourselves, we're getting some VERY strong wind gusts hitting the house/ windows, so I'm hoping it holds out!! 59 to 66 KNOTS winnndddddddddd here! 116km/h or 72mph

AND to think we go back to school on Tuesday... Today is Sunday! We're awaiting EducationQueensland announcements Monday afternoon to let us know what schools will be returning and others closed. What a stressful start to the school year for students, parents, school and teachers alike!!
